Module mechanical interface
Provide the host assembly drawing and mark the module boundary. Request the proposed mechanical interface drawing for engineering review before configuration approval.
In mechanical interface drawing, identify what lies inside the proposed package and what belongs to the existing project. Name the owner of each side of the connection and the drawing each owner needs to review. Ask the bidder to mark the proposed interface clearly, then have the responsible engineer compare that response with the actual host or adjacent equipment documents used for the enquiry. Request identification of the document defining the existing connection as well as the drawing describing the proposed side of the interface.
Module electrical questions
Ask your electrical reviewer to define the host connection questions. Request the relevant proposed module documents without assuming an interface is included.
In electrical interface questionnaire, identify what lies inside the proposed package and what belongs to the existing project.
Module command specification
Describe the commands and responses required by the host application. Request the supplier's proposed communication documents for review by your software team.
For module command brief, name the host function that needs a response from the proposed equipment and identify the information your software team needs to interpret it. Ask for the command or message description relevant to that function. Keep connection questions separate from the meaning of the returned information, and request enough documentation for the software reviewer to assess the proposed interface before approval. Ask the software reviewer to distinguish a requested command from the status information needed to establish how the proposed equipment has responded.
Module mounting access
Mark the available mounting area and intended service access in the host design. Ask for the proposed assembly drawing addressing those constraints.
Prepare mounting access plan using the access restrictions known to the site or laboratory team. Mark the area available around the proposed assembly and identify how people intend to approach it for the activities under review. Request a drawing addressing those access questions, and have the relevant site representative compare the proposal with the layout supplied for the equipment discussion. Ask the site reviewer to identify which access questions concern the equipment position and which concern the route to that position.
Module integration review
Assign the mechanical and software reviews to the relevant project roles. Request a response that identifies documents for each interface responsibility.
Use module review schedule to separate the questions assigned to each project reviewer and the documents needed to answer them. Connect each open question with the proposed item or stage it affects. Ask for a response addressing those questions individually, and have the responsible reviewer record the agreed description that the purchasing team should use when it prepares the request for commercial terms. Ask the assigned reviewer to distinguish a request for more information from approval of the proposed item, so that open questions remain clear.
Module configuration register
Ask the supplier to identify the module revision addressed by the quotation. Align the mechanical and communication documents with that exact proposed configuration.
Arrange module configuration register so that each proposed assembly has an identifying description and a clear connection to a requested function. Ask which documents describe the proposed assembly and which items require a separate selection. Compare the named configuration with the purchase brief, then return unanswered component questions before accepting the equipment description as the basis of a commercial comparison. Ask for the assembly names used in drawings and commercial documents to be reconciled where they describe the same proposed equipment.
